Cliff Michelmore also dies today, aged 96, thats a bit more like it (age wise).
He was the Science Correspondence and UK TV Presenter during the Apollo Moon Landings, remember them. First time I was allowed to stay up all night and watch TV when I was a Kid. :y was still made to go to School next day though. :( ;D

Was still touring until quite recently... :-\
There a certain inevitability to it all.

:( That's NOT magic :(
-
Indeed sad. He's about the only one of my childhood TC heroes who hadn't been caught by operation yewtree. :(
-
RIP indeed. Definite character, and a local boy as well.

I have to say that I was not a big fan of Paul Daniels. I found him irritating.
However, Cliff Michelmore was a talented individual who enjoyed a varied and interesting career.

I can agree with you on that, but only on tv. I met him personally and found him a very nice chap indeed.
