Has anyone got a list of cams that are fitted to the V6 engines...?
Im toying with the idea of changing 2 of the G cams (I currently have 4 fitted) and fitting 2 A cams ...
Trying to get back some lost torque....
Going to get the engine running as it should do once the CTS (on order) has been replaced, coz its being in PITA to start in a mornings....

FAQ section. If its not in there its in the other one.

I shall go looksee :) Thanks

It looks like I need a pair of A cams fitted, I dunno which I removed when I changed to the G cams. I'll dig them out and see which Iv got....

Should be 'A' you removed.
2.6s have 'J' cams, I think
-
I'll have a look later when I change the CTS...
I found a list that Iv seen before and the 2.5 V6 has E cam (exhaust) and F cam (inlet)...
I can only look at the ones I took out...

Check the list is for the Omega, they do seem to differ for Vectra, Cavalier, Calibra, etc, and Year related.

2.5 has E cams on exhaust F cams on inlet and 3.0 has A cams on exhaust with G cams on inlets IIRC no need for four G cams :y
Hope this helps :)

As you say G and A on the 3.0's, some folk fitted 4 x G's in order to squeeze a bit more umph from the top end with or without other mods, with mixed results.

The problem I found with fitting the 4 x G cams was the loss of low down torque, tried to combat that by fitting the long nose plenum. It helped - a lot - and the cams switch on at around 3,500 revs, but that is also when the flaps open on the inlet.... which I can only presume will be the high speed flaps opening...
I tried experimenting with wiring open the flaps permanently, which did tend to work but again a loss of low down torque again until around 2,500 revs there was mid range flat spot, then the cams switch on at 3,500 revs and the power could be felt.... with a nice shove in the back and it pulls well to over the posted speed limits on a private test track.... :y
I shall source a pair of A cams and go from there...
This BTW is not a search for power, but an experiment to see which suits the 2.5 V6 for power and torque whilst towing a single axle 1.45 tonne caravan (fully loaded)....

As you say, fitting A cams on the Exhaust will probably help with the lower Torque.
Got a pair here if your interested.

I'll dig out the cams I removed when changed to the G's just to make sure which Iv got...
I'll take you up on them if the price is right :y
