On Sunday while taking battery off to charge it I noticed some wetness on the "housing"where the uppermost radiator fan switch screws into radiator.Is there any place between top hose and fan switch that can spring a leak or is it more likely to be the top hose that's leaking?If it is top hose is there enough "play" in it to be able to cut some off at thread end or would it be new hose time?Car hasn't been started since last November yet this is a new development so I don't understand why it would happen in this way.

The radiator plastic side tank sections frequently crack in this area. You might be lucky and find that it's leaking around the hose or the thermoswitch, though. :-\

Found it :y Leak is a "pin hole" right on top of plastic side tank.With the plastic panel that runs across car over radiator in place you have to sort of peer under that at the flat section of side tank top and then you can see it bubbling out and then running down past top hose.Will try some kind of sealer on it first and then if no joy suppose it'll be new rad time :(

Don't waste your time... just fit new rad ;)

I would try using soldering iron first to melt the plastic where the hole is, and after that use the plastic weld .
there is video on youtube where guy repair the radiator that way. after 2 yrs. still no leak

How thick is the plastic on these? Can it not be drilled out, tapped and fitted with a suitable threaded bung?

Apparent pin hole is almost certainly the end of a crack...

I've used some two pack epoxy and a square of plastic cut to size and given that a try going to leave it until at least tomorrow evening then I'll start car and see what occurs,if it works then all well and good,if it doesn't then I've lost nothing but a bit of time trying.

Have done just that on a pinholed Omega radiator, worked ok with no subsequent leakage. No other cracking evident.

Well the two pack route appears to have worked-at least for now-so I may have time to replenish coffers a bit before having to splash out on another rad.
