Title: Very proud of our girl...
Post by: Diamond Black Geezer on 16 April 2016, 00:00:59
...because she passed her MoT today, just four advisories.  :D

183k and not out  :)

Not bad for a (nearly) 20 year old. Plenty of raggedy bits round the edges, but all the important stuff, brakes, engine, etc as they should be.   :) and all the raggedy bits are being sorted, slowly but surely  :y

Surely a 19yr old shouldn't be too bad around the edges?

-Emissions - the cats are on the way out.
-low brake pads at the rear (I have a brand new set ready to bit, but will berefurbishing a spare pair of back wishbones, etc soon, which he knows. (and he's the bloke I bought the spare wishbones off!)
-weeping fuel line (stritcly a fail, but he knows a new jubilee will sort it in 2 secs
-two rust holes in the front inner wings, which want plugging/new metal in them.

All round some nice summer jobs for us  :D.

True! Fuel linewill be getting a bit of attention very soon. It was fine, and an intended-to-be temporary-only bodge. (well, a half decent bit of hose and jubilee clips) I've got a complete spare fuel line, but you can't replace it without taking off the rear subframe  ???. Anyway, plans were to fit it in the summer. But being driven into, a six month wait for the insurance to not pay up a penny has put pay to lots of things, sadly. I'm getting there, now. In a way this year is going to be '2015 Mk II'

I have some spare rear wishbones which I'll be stripping and repainting, same for calipers, new seals, etc. the Donut bushes which I bought over a year ago will be going in, again, the rear subframe will be getting painted, and at the same time... the replacement fuel line!

One job leads onto another, I'm finding.. but getting there.  :)
