I don't know if it's relevant to the men, but I've always named my cars.
Names I have used have been -
My 1973 Toledo is called Tolly
Had an MGBGTV8 which was called Betty
Had a 1972 Triumph 1500 (FWD) which was always breaking down - This was called the Blue Bone
A Triumph 2500S 1976 (with Stag Wheels) was called the Yellow Peril (this was bright yellow in colour)
If I don't get any posts, I'll know all you male members of OOF are hard nosed, and too butch to call your cars anything. ;D ;D ;D ;D
Like to know what the Ladies call theirs too.
I'd like to bet some of the men of OOF have pink cars ;D ;D ;D ;D

The Elite is named Margret.. or Maggy
The estate is named Tiffany
Some are too bizzare to name!
My dads plane has been named mr onion

i sometimes call mine doris, mind you i call most women doris too ;D ;D ;D

1st car (red corsa) was called the ladybug (not MY choice, named by the then gf)
2nd car (corsa gsi) called by me as 'the bucket' as it only had a bucketseat and harness for the interior..
3rd car (Omega GLS) called the pimp wagon
and current Elite is called the Boat (although I'm still yet to float test it...)

Men call cars girls and womens names because they are unpredictable,tempremental and could have a complete breakdown at any moment. :y :y :y

OK, here goes:
850 cc mini called Vicki (Lord knows why)
Morris 1100 called Victor Hugo ( call sign in a previous life)
BMC JU250 (iirc) called the Buzzwagon
After that stopped naming them, til the Elite, which I call Gnu (reg. letters)

My first car was a D reg fiesta which we called Fester as it was rotten as a pear!
Second car was a 1.3 golf which we called Go Go Golf as it needed all the encouragement it could get!
My cav was called Betsy.
My meegas havent got names but both are female!
I call Jimbobs MV6 Tiger!

swmbo & sisters-in-law were trying to name the mig when I bought it with some female names.
But theres nothing feminine about a black V6 with black leather so its referred to as "the beast"

Most of the cars I have owned haven't had names but a couple have;
1. 1978 Triumph Dolomite-The Green Hornet (Brooklands green).
2. 1981 Mk5 Cortina 2.3 Ghia-The Beast.
3. 1982 Capri 2.8 Injection-The Flying Machine.
4. 1993 Nissan Vanette-The Magnet (Babe magnet; or Not!!)

Actually, tractor is just known as 'Tractor!', MV6 is 'Silver Bullet', Rover is 'The Little Rover'

Mines called Fanny the 2nd, i used to have a Fiesta which i also called fanny but that was written off in an RTA and i got the Omega with the insurance money, so in honour of poor old fanny Fiesta, i called the Omega after Fanny mk II

The only vehicle i named myself was my S3 Landy who was called Ronnie, dunno why, just was. When i was 18 or19 i had a Mk1 'Tina that my then girlfriend named Gertie. A few years later a girlfriend had an early Orion (YUK) which spun , spun , coughed, spluttered but would always start eventually. She'd turn the key, pump the throttle & shout "come on, come on" so i named it Eileen. (Dexys?) :D

There have been moments, over the ears, when nearly all my cars have been called the same thing ::) ::) ::)

Call the Omega either 'Tank' or 'Barge'
Friend of mine called it 'A Small City' once too! ::)

I only name cars when they annoy me. .. and the names aren't normally repeatable.
A mate of mine had such fun rebuilding a Fiat once that he named it Satan Strada. ;D
