Just discovered that the Elite runs out next week! >:( >:( >:( Aren't they supposed to send a reminder? :-\ :-\ :-\

Nope, only for Tax
However some garages will ask you to sign up for them to remind you near the time & will send you a txt.
-
nope,not for the mot :-\

You can set up a text alert but it costs something silly.
I assume you have a mobile phone ::) mine is set up to alert me of my/our cars' MOT a month before hand .... it told me yesterday that my Smart's is due at the end of the month.

That's what I was thinking of, my local VX garage always reminded me, but they have been taken over, and no doubt threw out anything useful. >:( :y :y :y

Why not just set it up in your Windows (if you are using it) Mail calendar, tis all I do as what with the cars and bikes (and age) I can never remember when they are due. I just set mine a week or so before (or more if a close call last MOT!!). Then it pops up to remind you, luverly :y

Put a circle around the MOT date for next year ....... :y

Local Jag main dealer sent me a letter reminding me re MOT - its now booked in and MOTs are FOC for the life of the car :y

I got a reminder from Mercedes the other day to say that my car's MOT is due. Apart from the fact I use the local MOT station that I've used for upmteen years, MB haven't updated their records as to when it's due. ;)

I actually got a reminder from a local VX dealer few weeks back, All I did was have the A/C topped up there, Must have kept details on record. MOT due next week.
-
;DI use a very radical method. I mark a calendar with the vehicles mot a month before they are due. I know that is a very odd way to do things in this age of technology but works very well as its so tried and tested ;D

I'm annoyed because I always used to get a reminder from the VX dealer, who used to do it for £29! Now taken over, no reminder and £50!!! >:( >:( >:(

If you fancy a trip to Swindon, you can get an MOT for £25 ;)

Spooky, I've just booked in to Now VX Hillmead for £35!, a bit better than Marlborough. :o They will also try to find where the AC gas is escaping, as after checking the compressor, HP & LP valves, all changed last year, there is no sign of a leak there or anywhere else. Hopefully they may have something to detect leaks. I'm somewhat miffed that they list the car as Vauxhall OLD MODEL, in capitals on the booking e-mail. :y :y :y

Probably a squirty bottle filled with water and washing up liquid...spray everywhere and look for the bubbles ::) ;D

Refrigerant leaks are unlikely to show up like that. Hopefully the last time it was refilled, it had dye added which they look for using u/v glasses :y

I would hope that they will pressure test the system with nitrogen first, then look for the bubbles.....
Using a U/V light to look for the dye needs to be done really on a fresh leak.
You can also use a 'sniffer' to try to find the leak, but you need a fairly draught proof area to have much success. :)
