Well it's that time of the year! ::) ;D So yesterday was the first proper warm day and reminded me that my aircon dosn't work! :(
It blows cold at first but after 20 mins or so starts to blow warm air. :( I've depressed both valves and the system is under pressure, so the fluid hasn't leaked out. I had it recharged a couple of years ago and it worked fine for about 3 weeks, before it died again. :-\
Any thoughts? TIA! :y

First thought... possibly one of the pressure switches in the air-con line.
-
I've been doing some reading up and one possibility is that there's moisture in the system and it's freezing which shuts it down. :-\
Guess I'll have to take it to an Air Con guy, as it will need de-gassing for what ever the problem is. ::)

Used the aircon in the Merc for the first time this week & all appears to be okay, noticed that the Terracan was not very good on the aircon at the end of last summer, had that regassed & checked at the dealership a couple of weeks ago for £45.00 all perfect now.

why? Mine's always on 'auto' as was my Omega ;)

Leave it on, as you should! It'll save you a fortune in the long-run!

.
Because I usually always drive with my window open always have always will unless it gets really warm & then I use air con.

Aircon does more than cool the air ::)
All explained very clearly in the manual... That applies to both the Omega and the Merc... :y

I really must pull the front bumper off and fix the wiring to the outside temp sensor so mine works properly ::)

Easily sorted with Bumper on....just done hers.....small loom does both fogs and temp, and the connector for the lot is by passenger side fog light. Just jack up a bit and all unclippable / snipable.

Got new fog lights to go in too so... Besides... I'm getting good at getting them off and back on again ::)
I'll look anyway but...

Do you really need to double post? Especially as you are trying, as seems to be the norm for many nowadays, argumentative?

There's words that don't go with an Omega

If we run large cars, why would we be thinking about saving fuel ? If I wanted to save fuel the obvious answer would surely run a smaller vehicle.
