Title: 3 button fob
Post by: raywilb on 08 May 2016, 21:01:30
the 3 button fob to my car is faulty. to get it to work I have to squeeze the key really hard & then operate the appropriate button & its still hit & miss. on the circuit board the battery housing is attached by two posts. on mine only one is still stuck to the circuit board. should both be attached. I'm guessing this may be the problem & when I'm squeezing the key I make a connection. :-\

Yup, easy fix.

Extended the broken post with a bit of stiff wire (resistor leg is ideal), push it through, solder it, job jobbed.

If you've been pressing buttons hard, best to replace switches as well, but these need a steady hand.

Just thinking how many one legged resistor bodies you have kicking around, or are you totally cruel and alternatively cut them off the same resistors one by one.  ;D

Wont ask what you was like with spiders and flies when you were a youngster.  :-X
