Title: Rear Window loose on Omega B Saloon
Post by: vauxsky on 08 May 2016, 21:41:34
Anyone had a rear window screen come loose on a saloon, anyone recommend any autoscreen repairers.

So there is no issues when the fixer comes along I have removed the surrounding plastic trim around the rear screen, and I am just removing the parcel shelf. I have removed all the fixings for the headrests and plastic bits on the lip, the 3 x 10mm nuts but I cannot see the 3 white plastic clips which was referred in the strip out procedure, anyone got a picture of them. Will look again tomorrow.

cheers for any advice

Is it not glued in like other germanian saloons so no trim needs to come off just the weather strip and rubber seal

"Its not glued in" "Its glued in"

which one is it gents - appreciate your comments

cannot seem to get the rear parcel shelf out, 3 x bolts are out, all clips are out at rear seat side, found the three white clips - pushed them. But it still seems stuck, don't want to rip the card, any advice?

thanks

Rear shelf normal gets some screen glue on, good hefty tug.

When tugging (ooohhh-err, missus), try to avoid bringing it too far forward until you can ensure the studs under the blind do not catch the bose speakers.

Thank you for the reply's

Its now been "GLUED" back in with new Rubber trim, fitted by Autoglass - cost £126 (Remove and Fit with new rubber Trim, which fits from sides to top only. Bottom has standard plastic trim for Rubber trim to clip into, which was still ok. The glass and car window aperture were cleaned, window - all old rubber removed from it, but on the aperture he used a blade to remove most, but there was still remnants of old rubber left, obviously he did not want to scrape pain off.

A black primmer was put onto the window and body aperture , then the glue was put on the window aperture only, about 1/2" high in the shape of a triangle, all round. Glass then fitted-laid onto glue, he didn't even push it down, it found its own level. He said it goes off in an hour, don't drive with windows open for a day, it looks a professional job, cant tell the difference, great job.

Did get quotes starting at £70, but ?
*Haven't done the water test yet
* I did remove all inner trim from inside, the parcel shelf and disconnected the heated rear screen, had to bend tangs slightly.
