I would politely suggest buying the dvd from the OOF shop...
It is oft forgotten that the sales from various bits and bobs in the shop are the sole income for maintaining the Forum.
;)

then the oof shop can have the dvd as i have never used it

I have long pondered how this Forum was set up and who runs it. Are all the officers volunteers, does it cost money to run, etc. The Autobahnstormers is a society, with members, annual membership fees, an AGM, etc. The Forum appears to be a free standing web group that anyone can join and participate in. I think it's wonderful, but it is mysterious.

Run by volunteers giving up their own time, and yes it does cost money to run. With the main running gear being in a room in a house, in a far away land on the outskirts of nowhere. :y

Why couldn't I find one for that price when I was looking? You guys seems to know where to look for these bargains. I must have my bargain buys set to 'hidden'. ::) I was lucky enough to borrow a locking kit for which I was extremely grateful. :y
Although the procedure is slightly different for the 2.6/3.2 the dvd is a fantastic guide on what to remove to do the job. :y
I got my conti cam belt kit from buypartsbuy (Sutton Auto Factors).

We would prefer that people do not give away copies of the DVD, and buy them instead from the OOF shop, as it does help cover some of the costs of running the site :y
Obviously, copying and redistribution is prohibited and covered by copyright laws.

I have long pondered how this Forum was set up and who runs it.
T'was set up nearly 10yrs ago (:o) by Laidback66, Ronald McBurger, Marks DTM Calib and I, as our "old home" had become a bit hostile for a number of reasons. It has always been run by what we call the Admin Team, currently 4 Administrators (Hotel21, Auto Addict, Marks DTM Calib and I) and 2 Global Moderators (Kevin Wood and Jimbob), purposely an even number for democratic purposes.
Are all the officers volunteers,
Yes
does it cost money to run
Yes - it is easy to forget that Internet businesses have remarkably high overheads. Fortunately we have an anonymous benefactor who provides all the hardware and infrastructure (networking, connectivity, tape backups, power etc) to run it, allowing what little income we do get from the shop to go towards the other costs of running the site, such as the shared hosting used for the Maintenance Guides images, as we cannot host that on our own servers for technical reasons.
I think it's wonderful, but it is mysterious.
I'm sure that makes it worthwhile to those running it :y

I'm sure that rather than risk losing such a wonderful Forum, many people would be prepared to make voluntary contributions, me included.
Do you have a mechanism in place to facilitate this, or if not, could you perhaps initiate one?
Ron.

No and no, in that order. For reasons I've stated before at some length, we do not accept donations from members...
(with a notable exception being a well known member, sadly not on so much nowadays, who had some spare hardware that he was able to donate)

Not the first person or time this has been suggested ;)

I'd be amazed if I were the first, NewbieDocker, but probably the first to get a verbal smack from TB!
Ron.
