Last night I had to drive a Land Rover Defender from Bristol to near Edinburgh. ::) It has a speed governor on it so 60 mph was the limit, which to be honest wasn't such a bad thing as I'd forgotten how agricultural these bloody things are! ::). We left at 2130 and arrived at destination at about 0645, including a few pee/stretch stops! ;D
When I agreed to drive, I thought we were going in a newish Discovery 4 with a the bells and whistles! :-X. I was stitched up, but it was still good fun though! :y
And of course I had to do a little bit of fettling before we set off! It wouldn't have been a proper Land Rover experience otherwise, would it? ::) ;D

While repeatedly muttering the Land Rover mantra What the opps has fallen off now?

You have my sympathies, even the later 110's with mod cons such as door cards, reasonable diesel engines, coil springs, moulded dashboards and a level of sound insulation are tiring to drive!

The fanatics call it "character" ;D

One of my neighbours is moving to Burgundy in French France... he took two vehicles... an '06 clit van and a '63 Defender.
Suspect when he pops back to complete his house sale, it will be in the clit ;D

I chuckled yesterday when I passed a Defender with a sticker on the back saying 'Honk if something falls off' ;D

Not that the driver would hear above the racket ;D
