Title: Omega Elite ECU part number / selling
Post by: V8S on 28 May 2016, 22:59:21
Hi,

I've taken the ECU out of the car ready to sell, but I'm not sure what I'd need to include with it for a prospective buyer.

It's for a Y22DTH 2001 2.2 DTi Elite model.

Can anyone tell me what the part number is, and what I'd need to include?

Many thanks.

Your need the Car Pass that came with the car, so the ECU can reused with re programming.

Worst case your need the paired Transponder Module and the Key Transponder Chips.

Without either or one of the above the ECU is pretty much a brick.

What he says. Key transponder chips, transponder pick up ring and ECU together as a minimum. Better still the car pass details.

Plus 250 posts (so not far to go) if you want to advertise it on this forum ;) :y

Hi

Thanks for that. I've got the car pass and the key chips.

Where on the car is the transponder module?

Thanks for your help.

I noticed one ecu for sale with vin number and registration. Is that because it lacked the module and chips?

By the ignition barrel. It's a ring around it actually :y

Thanks. I've just watched a video for an Astra so hopefully the omega one will be the same.

The battery has been disconnected since January so one assumes the airbag has no chance of firing.

I've found the car pass (well, security information) card. It has the chassis number, immobiliser code, radio code and key code.

Do I need to block out any of the numbers on there for security - i.e. so the information isn't usable by any criminals for cloning cars etc (not that they'd probably be cloning Omegas nowadays)?

Doing so would also make it useless for the next person... ;D

Leave it as it is :y ;)

ie un doctored and with the key chips/immobiliser ring and ECU.

Key blades can go with lock set, ie ignition barrel/drivers door lock/glovebox lock/tailgate lock

Key fobs and alarm/locking ecu (drivers kick panel next to gearbox ecu) can either go separately or with the engine ecu/immobiliser gubbins :y

Write the radio code in oppsing big numbers ontop of the radio once removed... if NCDC then no code, but must had display with it ;)

;D I meant block it out in an ebay advert.

Key blades can go with lock set, ie ignition barrel/drivers door lock/glovebox lock/tailgate lock

Do they sell?

Key fobs and alarm/locking ecu (drivers kick panel next to gearbox ecu) can either go separately or with the engine ecu/immobiliser gubbins :y

And again, is it worth selling?

Write the radio code in oppsing big numbers ontop of the radio once removed... if NCDC then no code, but must had display with it ;)

NCDC?

Does the radio (CCR2006) need to be sold with the readout display then? I've seen lots of CCR2006's without a display being sold.

From memory from reading about all this years ago, I have the display that's one down in the features from the colour satnav one. It's the orange readout with trip, mpg, etc.

Thanks for your help.

Ok, your radio isn't an NCDC one...

So get a big fat marker pen and write the radio code on it :D

Don't worry about the display, that can go separately  :y
