Replaced a rear door yesterday, only pain was once all connected up, the window didnt work. Swapped the regulator over, this didnt do anything ' ah, I thought to myself, I'll take out the motor from my original door, and swap them tomorrow. Easy'
So today I come to swap them over and it just doesn't want to go back in. Nor does the original motor, either. :-[
I'm stumped! And all the available advice seems to be drill out the rivets and replace the whole assembly. Doesnt seem to make sense as you can unscrew the motor, presumably for replacement purposes.
Any clues?! Ta :D

Keep wiggling! ;D

It's finally gone in.
Annoyingly still NO window working. Now going to try swapping the loom for the original to the door, rather than the original to the car, which is currently fitted. But that's for another day, I'm off in the garage to use an angle grinder, to de-stress ;)

Had this happen too...It was the connector which was unplugged to get door off...get some contact spray in there and make sure its clean...owing to the new door i put on had been left standing for a while

Well, well covered up. jumper, boiler suit, thick gloves, ear defenders and goggles. I actually don't like using angle grinders, they're a brutal piece of kit you have to respect and one lapse and it's skidding off.
Ground a 3-foot long spanner I picked up a while back (hoping some old railway markings would become visible, but not, sadly) and also started getting the rust/hammerite off a beautiful old range/bread oven door.
When the rustkiller stuff arrives I'll be working on my replacement rear wishbones, but for now decided to do some 'recreational' angle-grinding :D 8)
