Title: Unexpected outage in the next short while
Post by: hotel21 on 31 May 2016, 10:21:10
Just got a text from TB to the effect that he has a power cut at the server for OOF and the backup power supply is getting tired with the result that when it falls over so will the forum until power is back on.

Cheers.

Hope the UPS's lasted long enough to save any loose Data.

I know you've hear it all before, but again, thanks to all those involved in keeping OOF Running and Free.  :y

The primary database shut down cleanly, the secondary didn't and corrupted, but other than that, all good :y

It was a bit of a panic as I was in a meeting 60 miles away when the UPSes started emailing out, so wasn't able to orchestrate a tidy shutdown, but the system did so reasonably well, with a couple of oddities I need to investigate (only 1 hypervisor completed shutdown, other was moaning it wouldn't be able to...   ...right up to when it lost its power ;D

Im supposedly scheduled to do a All Sites UPS battery maintenance swop outs in a month or two, (if your still using those APC's), let me know and I'll hold back a few good used Batt Packs if it helps.
