I happen to be in Nottingham tomorrow and just wondered if anyone knows?

Cheers

Think you might struggle [even if it's possible at all] trying to fit one in a saloon, but in an estate I'd say yes it'll fit.

Wont fit in a Saloon.

I will be taking the Estate - so good news thank you, it looked like it would but couldn't be 100% sure  :y

Hopefully I will be able to get the bits to put the 2.2 estate back together.

Do you still have the Tigratardis ?

The Blue LPG one, No, the Local Council took a shine to it, when my back was turned.  ::)

Good news is I have a nice looking Black 1.6 GSi one now, just need to find a LPG kit for it  ;)

Yes is the answer to the question... fold the seats down and it slots straight in and sits on the wheel arches ;)

Won't fit in a Vectra C estate though... (too narrow due to different wheel arch arrangement :-X)

Thank you - good to have a second positive confirmation  :y

You can get a Capri bonnet in a Capri. Although a 2.0l Pinto falls out the back of a mk5 Cortina estate if the boot latch is sticky ;D  I hope this helps someone, as I wish the owner of the Cortina had told me when he lent me the car!

I have a 'project' estate one of those which I must get to one day...

You put it in the wrong way round :o

Hopefully the grill frame isn't distorted :-\

Hope that bonnet is the real McCoy and not one of those Genuine Fake Fiberglas ones going around.  ;D

Well I hope not, no pressure on it anywhere that I'm aware of. In that pic  I've removed the extra padding that was there to get it out of the car.

After some 'adjustment' of the slam panel it seems to fit ok  :y

I don't know exactly what I'm doing, having never attempted this kind of repair before but logic seems to be working so far!

Looks OK in the picture, fitting the headlight trims will soon tell you...

Only reason I mention it is that if you look at the back of the grill frame you'll see two dimples, with further dimples as you look back up either edge... These are the fold points for the bonnet crumple zone. Front one is the weakest one as it points in a different direction to the rest of it ;)

Ah, ok fingers crossed I got away with it! I do seem to have a slightly wider gap on the passenger side bonnet edge to wing than on the drivers and I can't work out how I would adjust that....

Unbolt the front and top of the wing, and pull the slam panel forward a smidgen where the radiator frame side is... Roughly where the cable retainer is... Then close bonnet, push wing to position and tighten the front bolt under the indicator. Then open bonnet and tighten wing top bolts.

Repeat as required  :y takes time but results can be quite satisfying when it all lines up beautifully  8)
