I have been told my motorbike will run best on Mineral Oil...... but will the Vx mineral oil be ok to use? or with it being actually car oil will it damage the bike? :-/
-
the motorcycle trade insist that car engine oil will damage the wet clutch on a motorcycle. are they telling the truth or just ripping us off ?i honestly dont know. :-/
if you run yours on vx oil for the next year and it doesnt harm it ,let me know and i will join in. :y ;D
-
Vx semi-skimmed is what goes in my TDM, not had a problem over the 4 or 5 years I've owned it.
-
I have only ever put car oil in motorcycles for ever, but my bikes have never been these modern day superbike things, guess that might make a difference. :)
-
thats what worries me a bit.revving an engine to 13,000 with oil in it which may well not be designrd to do that. :-/

Personally i would use either silkolene synthetic or castrol synthetic i wolud not use the vx oil as it might not be the proper grade i might be right i might be be quickly corrected by others.... i always stuck to using silkolene in my bikes though never let me down ..... :y

i think full synth. is a waste of money unless your doing racing or track days.i always use semi.
-
mineral oil??? wtf :o silkolene pro4
used it for years track days racing road bikes. synthetic base... it is not 10 w 40 semi synth which is too thick.
