..... and then I spent the rest of the afternoon at the hospital getting it removed! ::)

I remember taking my brother to the A&E many years ago for the same thing. Waited ages & ages to see someone who came back with a pair of wire snips, snipped off the barb & pulled the hook back out again ..... :y

Yes that's exactly what they did to me. The 2nd pic is after they pushed the hook out of my finger and before they snipped the barb off! :)

Not sure to be honest as it wasn't my rig, but yes the hook was bloody sharp. I didn't feel it go in!! :o ;D

Thought you being a hardened, sort of gezzer, you"d of done that yourself, or are you going all soft n cuddly in old age.
Pair side-cutters, bit of Dettol, and a plaster, followed by couple of pints.

No, but my mate did. I was helping him unhook his mackerel, so it wasn't even my hook! ::) ;D

Two weeks back two weekend fishermen knocked on our door. Can you take me to hospital? They fish for huge catfish. The guy had a tri barb thing stuck in the fleshy part of his palm.
I offered to cut it out with a craft knife sterilised of course, he declined. He could have been back for Sunday nights fishing none the worse.

What a woose. :D...........on a similar subject. My son has caught the same 31lb carp twice this week, after a ten year break from fishing. :)
