Title: Cost of aircon recharging
Post by: terry paget on 21 June 2016, 20:00:55
My MOT tester asked me where I get my aircon recharged. I said I didn't. He told me a local firm charges £49, a bit steep, a firm in Bath charges £39, and he has found somewhere in Kingswood, Bristol, that charges £29. I retorted that at that price I would buy it. Trouble is it takes an hour to do it.

What do you lads pay?

An hour is about right.  Less than about 45mins, they are not vac'ing it enough.

Last time, I paid less than your lowest price, but your lowest is very reasonable.

I paid £30 last week at a local garage. I know they stick it on a machine and the machine should do its business but mine doesn't seem super cold. It's not too bad, it's just not super chilled, so the fans are running longer than they should be to drag the temperature down. On my old 1998 car it would get down to temperature on Auto setting and the fans would slow down accordingly. On this one the fans are running for ages to keep the temperature down.  :-\
No leaks on it either.  :-\
