Title: Mondeo Man-oh-man
Post by: Debs. on 24 July 2008, 22:57:05
Had a visit from my father today; so took the opportunity and changed his Mondeo`s engine oil and filter.....what a crappy place the 2 litre Zetec`s engine-oil filter is in; had to take to OSF roadwheel and wheel-arch liner off to get to it......`thank gawd the Miggy is much easier to service. :y

On that point, the Mondeo takes Valvolene 5/30W Fully-Synthetic which Father bought locally for £18. (5 Litres).....seemed like a good price; would that also be ok for use in my Miggy?.....or is 5/30W too 'light'?

Oil filter is awkward when you do the decent thing and transplant it into a Westfield too.  ;D

I don't fit such a Huuge one either on the basis that it gets changed a bit more regularly that it would in a repmobile.

IIRC, the V6 is specified for 30 viscosity oils and above so it should be fine.

Thanks guys; 5/30W it is then.....I`ll pick up some of that Valvolene as it`s not a bad price and my Miggy is overdue a transfusion.  :y

Very dependent on the engine condition, I run my facelift on 5W30 fully synth Vx oil but would not run the higher mileage minifacelift on it.

Vx Semi-Synth was only £28 for 20 Lits (4 x 5 Lits) on TC last time i got some (about 6 weeks ago).
