Title: Rear springs
Post by: Tony H on 20 July 2016, 16:00:11
Hi all, I understand that non self leveling springs can be fitted to a car with self leveling. What effect would that have on the suspension if I where to fit them to my Elite? Also whats your opinion of Lesjofor springs? as I understand KYB are not what they used to be.
TIA
Tony

It will make it a bit firmer and less wallowy in the corners. I will be fitting a pair of Sachs standard rear springs on the rear of my elite soon.
In fact I almost decided to do it today as they have been sat on my bench for weeks, but decided to fit new front shocks to the 190 instead as that has got beyond ridiculous.  ;D

It's having that heavy diesel engine in that kills shocks. You should fit a lovely, light petrol V8 instead...

But that wouldn't run on WVO.  ;)
As well as changing the front dampers I changed one of the lower ball joints, which is a bit of a pita job. Especially in this heat.
