Title: Are there any E9 torx screws on Omegas?
Post by: terry paget on 24 July 2016, 21:15:58
I am stripping KR02 a petrol 2.2 for spares. Trying to harvets the crank sensor, I cannot get either an E8 or E10 socket to fit on the screw head. It could not be an E9 could it?   Cam sensor is an E8.

I have just checked the maintenance guide. It's written by me, says the screw is an E10 head, but can be undone with an 8mm socket. I shall try again tomorrow.

Think if you use a 12 point 8mm socket it should do the job.. :y

Thank you gentlemen. Found a 12 sided 8mm socket, fitted straight away. Removed screw, waggled sensor out, pulled cable through no trouble, now I have a spare.
As said in my guide, removal is easy; replacement is trickier. Hard bit is getting the screw back in. I have had to remove the engine mounting to do it, but it should go in same way a the old came out.i
