Title: Gearbox delivery question
Post by: tigers_gonads on 03 August 2016, 15:11:56
What's the best way / preferred courier to get a Ar35 down to Wooton Basset from these parts ?

Makes not much difference, but if Mr Gonads can get it to me in Cleethorpes (just across the Humber) anyone would be free to pick it up from me? That's taking it from a major city to the back and beyond, though  :-\

Got a mate who's coming to mine this weekend, then heading down to his neck of the moods in middle Lincs..not sure if he'll have the room for a whole AR35 in the boot, but he might be willing.

Pickup from yours might be a option matey if needed  :y
The lad and missus are back at work so don't want to pish around anybody by missing a courier  :(

Need to confirm but 95% certain, the box is going to Nige Entwood (who is currently on holiday)  but i'm already getting pressure to get back on the road from the tossers i'm working for  >:(
We all know that with these zero hour jobs, if you turn down a job you get sweet F all for a while as punishment  >:( >:(

Only got home from the van last night too and the bastids want me out this weekend  :'(

Im more then happy to work but the last week I did for them, I did 61 hour paid nights and 24 hour unpaid driving so slept for most of my (so called) weeks holiday  :'(

Yours

One friggin knackered gonads  :(

Thanks J  :)

Don't suppose you have sent any large objects on a pallet have you ?
Getting quotes around a ton here (inclusive of VAT).
Is that expensive ?

84 views upto now and it looks like most of the 84 have never sent a pallet and don't want to offer advise  :( :-X :-X

Sorry man, no such thing. I can ask is there's any such abilities at Work.. or if they could suggest a courier company etc...

The couple of companies at work just do companies, so account, registered for vat etc.. but you'd have to have an account with them, do xx amount of business per months etc.. I was hoping that I might have been able to just say to Mrs Accounts 'look, what's it cost to get a pallet from Hull to wooton basset? £xx? Right, here's £xx and have a quid for you to buy another one of these tops, happy days' but sadly no...

at £100 you'd be able to drive there and back for cheaper, even in our old thirsty buses, wouldnt you? Sadly the 'OOF courier service' at this end of the country isn't as well-stocked as darn sarff or the mudlunds. Will keep my eye out for you, lad, see if anything else comes up my end.

Simples...

Get a half pallet, securely strap it down, then build a half inch ply box over the top...

Be about £20 to get it shipped :y
