AS most know the free 30gb (15gb + 15gb Camera roll) free OneDrive Storage was under threat late last year to be reduced down to a mere 5Gb per user, then MS changed there minds, then they un changed it again, and said existing users will keep what the have, then they changed there minds again, and then issued a official link where you can keep your allowance if you sign up to do so. blah, blah, blah. ::)
Anyway despite all this, it seems quiet a few people with either 15 or 30gb have now been reduced down to the 5gb since last week. So best you check yours, and see if youve lost your allowance or more to the point any Data you had stored on there.. >:(

I agree. Anything of any importance I have on external drives . . . . . in duplicate. And it's quite quite and easy to sync and update them.

True, Ive got a paid for 1TB+ on one of my Ondrive accounts, not that it helps much, with just the stupid OneDrive Sync tools within Win10, I defie anybody who is capable of actually uploading 1TB of Data up to OneDrive Cloud within a 12 month subscription period without using 3rd party Apps. ::)

People seem to think anything on the Internet must be free, without realising that its actually expensive to provide any internet service. The capex costs - and most x86 servers will come out around £6-12k, and a decent sized storage array if offering cloud storage are probably approaching £1m - are generally insignificant to opex.
Which is why virtually all "free" services are either so badly limited to be useless (in the hope you buy the paid service), or ad laden. Hence the current battles the likes of Arsebook are having with the Ad Blocking providers, in order to ensure the model still works.
(though personally, I'd love to see arsebook close down. Road safety would improve dramatically).

Two consecutive drivers on the M4 yesterday were texting as we passed them due to them blocking the middle lane at 60, one had his young son next to him. :o >:( >:( >:(
