Booger you was quick. Yup.

;D ;D
Same link ;D
4 hour battery life seems a bit low :-\
I wonder how it would run video with only 1 gig of ram :-\
-
I have a kindle fire hdx,8" 32GBP, runs downloaded video fine, when battery gets low just plug in to cigarette lighter,or any mains supply while you have a coffee.

x86 will always use more power than ARM, and Windows will only run on x86 (ignoring the now dead Windows 8 RT, and the current IoT experiments going on).
So you need to decide on what you need to run, as Android may be a better option depending on requirements.
*HOWEVER*, MS will likely provide updates for the foreseeable future on Win10 devices, whereas Android updates only come from the OEM, and generally el-cheapo ones never get updates. Considering that Android has had probably 50 critical flaws (remotely exploitable without authentication) fixed in the last month, you'd have to be a bit Radio Rental to use a cheap Android device connected to the Internet.

Just had similar advice off my 20 year old about the benefits of Win 10 vs old versions of android ::)
He lost me when he went into babble mode about friggin jellybeans and ice cream sandwiches ;D
Would 1 gig of ram run video ?
Also would that code reader software which shall not be mentioned run on one of these as my old netbook has seen much better days ?

RAM is fairly insignificant to playing videos, as its down to how much video decoding hardware if built into the GPU. You need enough RAM to run the OS, plus and applications you need.
If your GPU doesn't support hardware video decoding, you're pissing in the wind anyway.

I'll pop into town and have a play :y

The Tesco link is down at the moment, but if the Tesco Connect 7 is anything to go by it was actually a UnBadged Linx 7 which had good reviews, so guessing the Connect 8 is a Linx 8 in real life but which a different back cover to hide the Linx name.
One of the good points on the Linx Tablets is they have a Mini HDMI port, meaning they can plug into your Hotel TV to watch Films etc, if thats a bonus for you.

If your going down the Win10 Tablet mode, 32gb or more on board storage is a must, dont bother with 16gb, windows will nick about 10 to 12gb and by the time you have installed Office / Mail Client your pretty much done. 2gb of Ram would be nice but Win10 will happily run on 1gb.
The real option for Windows vs Android is all about Apps, plenty on Android (Play Store), hardly anything of much use on the Windows Store apart from your standard Windows stuff (Free Office under 8", Here Maps etc).
Win10 is starting to show its true colours on Small Cheaper Tablets now, with the added benefit of running most Windows programs, so its starting to become more competitive over Android these days, mainly due to Microsoft giving the OS for free to small Tablet Manufactures.
-
Well I picked up a Connect 8 for 5 pence short of 60 quid :y
Only just started but much easier then pishing about with the screen on a iPhone 4s.
Windows 10 is a bit weird but I'll see how I get on.
Tvmc installed so i'll have a play and report back :y
As always, thanks lads :)

Not true. That phrase was invented to make those with small ones feel better
Otherwise . . . . . why would the supermarkets be full of 40" ones ?
TV screens that is . . . .

that is cheap esp with 32GB storage :o
anyway don't forget with a micro sd card slot you can add storage - usually they say 32gb max but a 128gb sd card works just fine in my kocaso tablets.

Theres a big difference between on board SSD Storage and SD Expansion Storage. ;)
Where its quoted as 32gb SD storage max, thats due to the device working with Fat32 Format, above that devices are working eFat upwards.

access time is not too dissimilar: 0.5ms v 0.35ms :y

In reality, an SD is a huge magnitude lower in performance, and the ones at sensible prices more prone to corruption, than the built in NAND.
There is a reason why every single manufacturer doesn't use SD for anything other than secondary, temporary storage ;)
-
usual forum response to people's actual experience - i agree with the secondary storage bit but rest is rubbish. what is "a huge magnitude" lower? yes performance is lower but nowhere near 1 order of magnitude let along a huge magnitude. look up "magnitude".
"temporary" is dangle berries too, yes back up any data you store on sd (or ssd or hd for that matter) but why would you only use it for temporary storage. never lost any sd data yet touch wood. many phones use sd storage as their main storage.
