Yep, that's right, mine broke into three when I did the service at the weekend, but handily there is a nice Vx part number. I rang the Stealers there and then - the number wasnt recognised! If anyone's got a APC to hand and is able to confirm this. The reason I mention it is that for all us with - ahem - 'proper' throttles, not dbw type, this could prove a fair old issue, as it's a bit specialist, really. And if yours crumbles then you're a bit stuck unless you have a suitable replacement.
I've contacted a UK company that manufactures every size of grommet, and they have one similar, but not an exact match. (hoping being rubber that a difference of half a mm isn't going to be an issue) but just for future reference, maybe worth all you on here that regularly break Omegas, to nab the grommet off the throttle cable. It's certainly not the sort of thing I'd ever think about getting, and I must have passed up dozens over the years, same with diff mounts etc...
I'll let you know my 'professional bodge' repair in time, but for now would like to know if there's a source of the correct grommemt/bush? :y

not listed separately only as part of cable assy.

no.18 is cable through bulkhead grommet.

Thanks :) that means the stealers were telling the truth, bugger! :D
I've been doing a bit of digging, and it seems that VAG and BMW have a very similar component, but again, sourcing a replacement is proving very difficult. Certainly would feel 'against the grain'to bin my throttle cable and get a new one, just for the grommet. I'm not sure how common a stretched throttle cable is - perhaps this is simple a good time to replace the cable, actually?
With the amount of basic engine stripping that your average OOFer does (I'm thinking the bi-monthly breather clean etc) I'd imagine that with every in and out this grommet takes, they'll all be going brittle and splitting in the near future. I was been looking in such as Wilkos and so on and so far absolutely nothing. At present I'm trying to aim for one of the following
-a low-cost solution that fits, though not OEM
-a source of an original GM one, or made to the same specs/identical dimensions indistinguishable from the originals.

Might have one but no promises ;)

Hello lad!
Is that your way of saying 'come up and see me sometime' :D
Well, if we can get up your way, touch wood I can get an end cap (or was it end caps?) this week, then maybe
-have a nosey on your code reader jobbie - can you 'do the trims' on it? No real idea what people look at, and what the numbers mean, but would be nice to be able to publish them and have a few people on here cast their expert eye over the readings.
-hopefully pinch a few more bits off that PFL up your drive whist there
-give you beer or money. I think that was it, wasn't it? :D
Any other parts I can look out for, for you?
-
Why dont you have a go at making your own?
If you look at the pollen filter housing flap there is one but you will need to drill it yourself
Just a thought
Or just dont have one and use silkaflex in the hole to pack it out

For yours, looking at Partial Load trims being about 125 - 129 on each bank.
