I've just changed the cambelt on my 3.2 and when I took off the twin intake duct I noticed on the underside a 3mm vacuum pipe with a rubber elbow on the right hand intake (viewed from the front) was disconnected. I've reconnected this once the job was done. Does anyone know what this pipe does as my car doesn't drive any differently with it on or off.
Thanks.

In theory that's going to the front multiram, and it should drive a bit 'dead' without it. If it's a bit longer, then it's going down to the front vacuum reservoir, which is at the bottom of the inlet 'W' as I call it, which, again, does the same, that's powering the front multiram.
Only other option (which is further right than you describe) is the SAI vac lines, which, as you say, will make no difference to running, except meaning a little lumpiness on idle at teh vac line is exposed to atmosphere. Can't think of anything else :-\

If you're talking about the tube with the 90 degree elbow into the bottom of the throttle body, it's the reference port from the fuel pressure regulator.

True, forgot that. OP says 3mm vac pipe plus rubber elbow. But the hose to FPR sounds good. I'm not sure, now.
Picture speaks a thousand words, OP? :)

Kevins words paint an accurate picture :y

Indeed, Kevin described what one of the pipes is, spot on. All I what I was saying is for the OP to give us 100% confirmation which pipe it is, so we know the pipe in question. Placement sounds like TB to FPR, as Kevin says, but this "3mm vac pipe plus rubber elbow" sounds odd, not like that hose at all. :)

I'll take a pic.

Hi, how do I add a picture?

It's the only vac line that connects to the throttle body ;) and it only just reaches the elbow...

Oh, it could well be that pipe, I'm not saying it isn't Mr Smeegle. A bit annoying if the car isn't running any worse with it off, though! :)
To the OP - basically upload to photobucket (there are others about) copy the url, then go to write a reply on OOF and click the 'picture' button (below the 'B' for bold text) and paste/ctrl + V in your url and thine uncle be bob. :y
