Title: 2006 focus 1.6 tdci problems

Brought the above  just over a week ago ,nothing but problems,had p2002 fault code,fixed that at weekend,on the friday last week had to call out rac,was running shit,no power and missing,he tightened down injectors as they were lose,today ive had serious engine malfunction warning come on ,got a code p042e code,cleared code drove home and now its not reving above 3000 rpm and sounds very noisy,any ideas as to what this could be?

Those codes point to DPF and EGR problems. what code reader are you using?

Hopefully it was stupidly cheap and you'll be able to recoup your losses by selling the bits that still work to someone daft enough to buy them ;)

Police workshops up and down the country have spent millions trying to keep theirs running long enough to get to the auctions...

Dead turbo was problem,new 1 ordered along with new egr vavle,fuel filter,10l of oil and 2 oil flters

Fit a new oil feed pipe aswell, as these are usually clogged with sludge. Also there is an inline filter somewhere whitch schould be renewed or removed.

Leaking injectors is a very common cause of dead turbos on these engines, i cant remember exactly how but the leak forms sludge that enters the oilways.. :-\
But (as all turbo Engines) these require oil changes with MAX 12K intervalls

Ordered new oil feed pipe kit,filter is in banjo bolt that screws in engine block,will be doing oil change every month for a few months.

Ensure that you flush the intercooler thoroughly. Which makes a lovely mess.

Got new turbo,oil feed pipe,sump pick up pipe,egr valve,fitted,several oil and filter changes,fuel filter and now running as it should  :y
