My CCR 2006 has finally given up the ghost :-\ .The radio and tape are working great just the CD has stopped playing from the CD holder.
Can you tell me if a CCR 2006 will fit my 2003 Omega from a 2004 - 2005 or later Astra or such like.
I want to start playing my CDs again :y. I am worried the connectors are not the same.
All advice on this would be very welcome before I buy one that does not fit. I want to keep the car original :y. Thanks

Astra/Course 2005/2006 units plug straight in I think :y
That said, all head units now will be getting tired lasers, you maybe better off getting one you have re-furbed by a specialist.

Thanks for the reply Tunnie :y. I think it may just be the cd laser but believe they are hard to get hold of or are none existent. I just want to keep the car original as the dash looks so great :y. If it can be confirmed they fit I would just go to the local breakers to get one cheap and fit it even though I have read they are very difficult to get out of the dash :'(. Again thanks for the reply any one got any thoughts or got one for sale ;)

Need to come from a car with buttons rather than wheel controls on the steering wheel as wiring differs... also Astra ones have a bevelled face... easily sorted by swapping the front panel from existing unit... this gives you more choice though as the Astra ones tend to be silver :y

Never thought about the steering wheel control, my car has this as it is a CDX. Thanks for pointing that out Doctor Gollum :y :y.
I do not think I could change over the front facia as I am not really that good at that sort of thing :-[

Four small torx screws to change the front panel ;)
The issue with wheel controls is that later Vectra C/Astra H are full Canbus, whereas earlier ones/Omegas aren't, so the radios, and their associated wiring are very different, even though they will physically fit.
You could possibly make them work with some careful wiring mods, but don't hold me to that...

That is understatement of the year. Might be able to get a PIC in there to do some stuff, but suspect you'd end up fitting half a dozen Vectra ECUs to get the radio to work. Would defo need Column ECU, BCM and possibly instrument ECU. Then to get the display to work, it would need a full CAN display (which is bigger). Then to get the FC to work, you'd need parts of engine ECU and I think the fuel gauge is off the REC on those pieces of shit.

But at least you didn't say it can't be done 😅😅

Thank you for the advice :y.I think it would be to much for me to complete all the changes :-[. I may try to change the PCB board over from a CDR2005 as described on this great forum (It has helped me so much :y :y :y). Has any one ever done this?, any advice would be great.
Again thanks for all the great advice I may just end up playing the radio and cassette player to keep the car looking original.

Are Corsa C radios the same size? Should open up a wider source :y

Thanks again Doctor Gollum never thought of a Corsa. Great help as usual :y :y.
