Title: Opie Oils...
Post by: Markie on 18 July 2008, 19:03:18
Anyone used them?

Just ordered there recommended for the clit 182 and the Jeep ( Silkolene and Fuchs)

Wondered how long they typically take to deliver.

Still i guess i cant complain at any delivery time as they gave me FREE deliver and also my OOF discount. Great Price  :y

Excellent - day off Wednesday, looks like an oil change extravaganza  ::)

Saved about £20 on their normal prices so looks like a really good place to use on line  :y Free delivery runs out on Sunday so anyone thinking about ordering should do so before  ;)

If anyone is having one, I may show may face ;)

I think the MV6 is somewhat overdue - 150k, and no history of a change...

You will be on the floor, on your back, under your car for some time.

You want reasonable weather!

Or timbuk's unit  ;D

Easy enough job, just dirty, I dont mind helping out if I'm free

The problem I have is getting the car level whilst in a position to pour the oil in !!! Too many slopes around here, and on the old miggy I spent nearly 2 hours trying to get it level whilst on axle stands, gave up in the end :( as I didn't want to start the job if I couldn't finish it properly

ATF party somewhere level with a ramp or pit would be really, really, really, good  :y :y :y :y :y :y

I filled mine on the slant with the driver's side on axle stands then dropped it level to allow any excess to drain out before putting the plug in.

I also have a very useful tool for filling the box, based on a cheap killaspray from Lidl and a short length of 8mm copper pipe.

Thats the difference .. you have a level to drop it to !! all I have is slopes !!

I was trying to find a level point and the only way was whilst on a jack .... and I don't go under cars just on a jack... lost a friend years back who did that and had the car fall on him .. it was 6 hours they reckon before he was found, he died in hosptial without regaining conciousness... I've always wondered what he went through in those 6 hours ....
