Title: Ad blocking on IOS
Post by: tigers_gonads on 14 September 2016, 15:32:20
Treat myself to a iPhone 5SE a few weeks ago and absolutely love it (in a non sexual way of course  :D)

Only problem is, the local newspaper site uses "Taboola" for friggin pop up adverts and surveys on nearly every page which mean the site is Nye on impossible to use without a big risk of me trying to embed the phone in a wall.

Is they or does anybody on here use a Ad Blocker which will filter out most or even all of this shite ?

UC Web Browser (UC Web) has a good built in Ad Blocker built in, never used it on a GayPhone though.

Just remembered.....I couldn't look at any cars on autotrader, just kept getting blank pages. I had to turn the blocker off.

These sites are incredibly expensive to run, and part of the revenue comes from ads.  So many sites are now purposely looking for users using ad blockers, and making the sites not work when they are enabled.

Arsebook in particular has been in a tit-for-tat battle with Adblock Plus over the past month or so....
