Post by: mungo on 16 September 2016, 18:39:47
Hi,
Sorry for my English. In my Omega '98 I have a problem with remote central locking. Everything worked OK until one day a remote stop work. Normal open/close with key work great and central locking work fine. I try sync remote but it is not work. In "My Naff Code Reader" i have error 24 and in measuring blocks is Doorknob status: fault when i try open door. Central locking module recive signal from remote but not work. Maybe can you help me?

You may have dry solder joints on the battery terminals in the fob, I had this and the fobs would work intermitantly, I had tried numerous batteries to no avail untill I popped open the fob and looked very closely

Fiddling with my fobs I noticed that it doesnt always lock the car let alone light the fob, so changed batteries and still nout.

So I opened it up.

Found that there was a dry solder joint to the batt terminals

So whipped out the iron and heated the pins

Fixed and lights up perfectly. This wasnt as complex as fixing the abs ecu for the v70 which was a biatch to do

You can sticky this if there isnt already a fix for the fobs

How many keys are programmed. Error code means key 4 has lost sync. This may or may not be the key you are using.

I would follow the resync procedure in your car manual first.

i have only 1 key with remote (key number 4). ECU can see this key but error 24 say - not sync. I Try sync procedure: Turn II position - press and hold close/open button but it still do not work

Just because the light blinks doesnt mean its working, when the solder breaks and you press the button it will all make contact, then when you relese the button it looses ots memory again leading you back to square one

I checked and soldered all pins(battery and buttons) but but nothing has changed.

Was this fob actually programmed to the car at some point?  Do **NOT** use op com to program the key, it has a reputation for breaking it.

Does the sync complete, and if so, as soon as it completes, does key show as "In Range" in live data?

When i press lock or unlock in live data i see something change. But the key is out of range all the time

So the sync isn't completing.  I appreciate its difficult to tell because op com is a crock of shite, and the fake ones are even worse.

So, revisit the joints, and if that doesn't help, new fob.
