Title: 2.6 Radiator
Post by: star_whites on 18 October 2016, 11:02:55
Hopefully someone can advise.

My radiator sprung a serious leak yesterday on my 2001 2.6 auto estate. I ordered a new one from my car parts supplier and they got me a Nissens 63073a rad.

Got the old girl home last night and on stripping her down I found that my rad is different from the one supplied. Mine has an independent oil cooler separate from the main radiator where as the radiator provided is like the old style with the oil cooler connectors in the end of the radiator.

I have rung them this morning and their supplier is only listing one type rad and they are saying this is the correct one. I'm positive it isn't correct but could someone advise??

It wont be a problem. They just make a generic rad for V6 omegas, rather than model specific, but  you can fit it and just ignore the inbuilt ATF cooler. Or you have the choice of two, so can swap around depending on your mood.  ;D

I found using the inbuilt cooler, makes car run a bit cooler, than the extension cooler.
