Just read that corrupt FIFA have denied England and Scotlands request to wear poppys on their shirts and also any armbands as it,s considered a political symbol. Any thoughts fellas?
-
Stuff them all I say and wear your poppy with pride :y

:y

It is not a political symbol but a remembrance symbol for those hero's that lost their lives defending this country. :'(
I've signed the petition at change.org, you can help the fight by doing the same. :y

If I were one of the players I would just wear one anyway, what the Fick have Fifa to do with such things.
makes my blood boil this kind of thing, this is not a matter for discussion by football clerks, just wear a poppy and to hell with them.
Sign that petition in Rods2 post above.

Yes, it tends to be a British thing but the respect applies to ALL combatants from All conflicts no mater which side of the fence you are on :y
Petition signed :y

Oh, its FIFA were talking about .................
Best deliver the petition in a brown envelope then :-X :-X :-X
-
I've got one on my car.

I'm not signing any petition because we shouldn't need a petition. The football association should make FIFA realise that our war heroes are far more important that any game of football and should be willing to pull out of the competition if necessary. On an individual level, the footballers should make it perfectly clear that they will not travel if they cannot show their respect for our war dead.
F***ing dirty little, money grubbing, self-important pieces of shite! >:(

Lets see if the wimps at the FA have got the balls to defy these jumped up weasels
-
Well, at least the FA seems to have seen sense as they are going to 'defy' fifa.
My bloods still boiling though, after seeing who was responsible for fifas decision in the first place.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!

bugger them wear one anyway :y :y :y

Made me laugh when May laced into FIFA in the house of commons yesterday
Something along the lines of "you cant even get your own house in order so piss off"
Good top see a prime minister standing up for us for a change instead of kissing arse :y :y

Thirded, May did impress me. I've been very much 'beige' in my opinion of her thus far. However, the political thing to do would be to say "we respect FIFA, and the fallen, however, we can't really say anything in one opinion or another, as this is not a Governmental issue, and cannot dictate policy to an international body blah blah blah" instead she's said stuff you.
Oh, they're wearing them, I've seen now, and if they get a sanction/fine, then so be it. If I were a player, and no-one else wore one, I still would. If they fined me a whole month's wages I think I'd be able to stand it, at a typical Premiership Footballers' Minimum wage. Maybe wait a week or two before buying another Bentley.
It's not political, as said, it stands alone as a unique 'thing' it's not in the same league as fighting cancer, saving the african kiddies, aids etc... it's in a class of its own, even above and beyond Help for Heroes and a dozen others that have sprouted up over the last few years. Unique, always will be.

If I was fined, I'd tell FIFA to go swivel. And I'd expect the FA to back me up.
