Not for the Omega but been looking for an aerial to replace the wing mounted pull-up type something that can be internal maybe boot mounted, similar to this ebay listing http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Electronic-Radio-Hidden-Antenna-AM-FM-Stereo-amplifer-For-Car-Vehicle-/172300872088?hash=item281deea998:g:ISQAAOSwYIxYBzo0 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Electronic-Radio-Hidden-Antenna-AM-FM-Stereo-amplifer-For-Car-Vehicle-/172300872088?hash=item281deea998:g:ISQAAOSwYIxYBzo0)
or are these a waste of time.

I can't offer you personal experience of that device, but my experience as a Radio Engineer suggests that performance will be poor in any but the strongest of signal areas.
Would you consider the motor-driven type of conventional aerial, where the bulk of the aerial is concealed inside the wing, for instance, and on switching the radio on, the aerial is driven up just like the old fixed ones, and of course returns to hidden when you turn the radio off, leaving only a tiny tip of the aerial on show.

That is what I have fitted now as a standard fitment but fitting new wings I was trying to get away from drilling the wing and finding a reliable alternative.

What car?

Internal aerials are never ever going to be as good as a nice external one
If you don`t want a cumbersome wing mounted one, then why not look at a roof mounted one - often easier to fit than you think
;)

Granada. If these internal aerials are iffy I will most likely replace with a new like-for-like, it will keep it all looking original I suppose.

It had crossed my mind, from feedback I think the internal is going to be out of the question and a new electric wing mount will be going back.
Will get a genuine one off a later model (whatever make) but it will have to be a quiet/quality one.

If going like for like, be sure to mount it on the drivers side... away from the kerb/hedges/scrotes etc ;)
There's a cable grommet in both inner wings :y

;D The last time I fitted a new one I was down the A361 Banbury and a bloody Pheasant flew out and clipped it putting a tiny bend in it >:(
