Yes tried that and no luck, also had one fitted but it would appear that the part was not very good, car is parked up and possibly looking at going into the dreaded bone yard :'(

Don't be so hasty :y

Just for clarification it was I who looked at this.

Originally, upon initial look, box was in limp mode and no selection lights illuminated whatsoever regardless of position.

Upon driving on ramps and looking underneath, the underside was caked in mud, OP said previoys owner lived on a farm.

Upon fitting a known good selector switch (always faultless on my old elite and dry stored) the selector lights came on, Fault light went off, and box operated as it should on a short test drive.

Knowing the history of the switch I think it's fine. As I mentioned at the time the loom plug wasn't in great shape and didn't click home too well. It might just need some contact cleaner and a cable tie.

Worth noting someone had been in there before owing to the protector around the switch being all bent out the way.

Likely to be something very simple like a poor connection.

As stated I will have a look when I can but currently have flu and am crippled up more with my back probably through trying to do too much and the weather
