Does anyone know if you swap the ecu on a 2000 2.5 v6 do you have to program it or are they plug an play
-
Plug and play, but...
You also need the immobiliser ring from the ignition barrel and the chip from the key. Car pass would also be nice :y
-
The Maps are different between Auto and Manual (it will still work) but you can swap the Eprom containing the Map easy enough.
-
Ok thanks
My mate thinks my ecu is faulty
Had a problem yesterday my car wouldn't start
-
There are much more likely candidates than the reliable ECU.
-
The ecu was hard to communicate with vaux com an kept kick us out
Then all of a sudden it fired into life no fault codes or anything
02 sensor 2 is reading high an the values don't move at all
-
Crank Sensor (1) is normally the first culprit for non start or intermittent start on the V6's, or Transponder Chip / Immobilizer issue (2).
(1) Doesn't always throw a Code.
(2) Was there any flashing EML when trying to start car.
-
No light flashing or anything
The car was cold as it was first thing in the morning
