Are the power steering pumps the same across the range of models? say for instance are the 2.0/2.2 pumps the same as the 3.0/3.2 pumps. :-\ TIA
-
Nope. Don't know about the 4 pot versions, but later cars 2.6 / 3.2, were different to the earlier 2.5 / 3.0.
-
Likely then, that those variations would apply to the 4 pots as well. :y
-
And there's the servotronic (or thereby lack of on 4 pots) as well.
I think that you can fit any V6 one to another V6, but the piping needs changing, too. (which offsets somewhat the £2 or whatever you've saved in getting the 'wrong' pump if you then have to source the associated pipes, too) :)

All X-gen petrols (2.0, 2.5 and 3.0) have the same PAS pump.
Diesel have diferent.
3.2 and 2.6 are another diferent model.
It doesn't matter if it is servotronic or not - that is in stearing head.
-
2.5/3.0 won't fit 2.6/3.2 and vice,versa.
Don't know about little ones.
-
Ooh, I always 'knew' that you needed different pipes, but the pumps were interchangeable between early and late V6s.. though I've never actually done it personally. Fair enough

Correct. :y

Ta Mr MigV6 :y The problem we, and of course a squillion other blokes before us have is discovering the difference between 'not the same part' and 'it won't fit'
I saved a few quid on my HTs by fitting Vectra ones, even though 'they're too short and won't fit'... but they do :)
