Title: Two more dead BMW's.......Getting ridiculous now.
Post by: Crazycarzowner on 25 November 2016, 17:24:22
Interesting nightshifts they were.

One BM decided it was too cold and decided to warm itself up by internally combusting on the M62 and burst into flames :o :o :o The fire bobbies had a right good laugh at that. then the 65 plate (already on its second engine after 2500 miles  ::) ::) ) decides it no longer wants to play anymore AGAIN  >:( >:( >:( and grinds to a halt on the hard shoulder with little over 20k

Bring back the T5's  :D :D :D :D :D

is German engineering quality a myth. Read somewhere that it is - they are just better at building an illusion.

Never rated BMW , lots of Audi's used by traffic in this area wonder if they are any better.

Our newest one, the 65 plate has been at BMW longer than we've had it! They had it 2 months when the 1st engine died, then when we got it back (with a new engine) the acceleration was shockingly non-existent. They took it back, had it for ages and couldn't find anything wrong with it until we took em for a 'proper' test drive at which I think the technician returned a tad embarrassed  ::) its never been right since and I hate driving it as I don't trust it at all at speed as you don't know what its gonna do. It says sommat when a tired 61 plate with over 170k flies past you on the way to a job & you can't keep up  :-[ :-[ :-[  >:( >:( >:(

BMW The ultimate marketing machine.

The local dealer used to(I've not been there for ages) use the slogan "The value of perfect engineering" Perfect is a very brave word to use.

Should have bought manual petrol ones... But I suspect that Bmw would politely suggest that whilst they are technically available, they will cost more as they aren't a primary order type...

Closest you're going to get to a decent car now is the Chevrolet Caprice, assuming that GM could be persuaded to make them in red :-\

High performance Euro 4/5 diesels were never going to be upto the job and any procurement department should be able to see through the advertised mpg with their eyes closed... :-X

Why would anyone think German engineering is quality?

Maybe for cars back in the 70's, when compared to what BL were stupidly doing, but who still lives in the 70s?

Their crap, be it BMW, Merc or german built VAG, whatever, is no better engineered than what comes out of the far east.

Only BMW haven't made a good petrol engine for 25 years....
