:( Guy I work with is due to retire in two weeks time , last night he has a severe stroke and is now laid up in hospital , life can sometimes play some pretty sick practical jokes on you >:(
-
Yes really sad - I am 65 next year and conscious of this type of situation (although I will not retire then). Really upsetting for his family as he may have had planned for things to do in retirement.

Fella I went to school with died suddenly yesterday. I don't know the circumstances, but he was only 46! :o :'(
Makes you think..... :-\

It shows we all have to make the most of today , so sad and quick

Awful thing to happen, but the older you get the more aware you become of your mortality, got to make the most of every day, hope he makes a speedy recovery & can enjoy his retirement to the full.

That must have been some log, to cause a heart attack.
