Title: Rear Light Cluster Lens broken
Post by: sirmally2 on 27 November 2016, 23:02:40
Hi all,

I've ordered a replacement part from Evilbay as the old man reversed in and a branch has gone thru the lens of the rear lights

Its the set on the Boot lid and not the corner.

How much of a ache in the gonads is it to change? or is it just a few screws?

cheers
mal

Looked at my f/l 3L[assume they're all the same]so open boot there should be a plastic cover where light cluster is.Squeeze the outer collar in the centre of this and at the same time pull this removes cover. Then it's a matter of undoing 3 small nuts and disconnecting electrics, then push light unit out.Replacing is as they say reversal of removal.Personally before refitting I'd clean the edges of the opening and apply a thin beading of silicone to prevent any water ingress/leaks.

Thank you Chaps... Another job to get ticked off the list once the bit arrives.

Thought it might be simple however always best to ask the people in the know :-)
