Title: Exhaust "rings"
Post by: BazaJT on 28 November 2016, 06:26:59
I heard a friends 3l start up and drive away and it had a "ticking" noise which sounded much like a blow around the manifold area. When I text her later she said the garage which looks after her cars had told her that the car needed new exhaust rings but that Vx only had ones that fit the 2.5.Are these rings they mentioned what for a seal for the manifold /downpipe joint?or where are they situated? Is the exhaust the same for both engine sizes? The car in question is a m/f/l saloon.

Yes, that would be manifold-to-downpipe seal.
It's same for 2.5 and 3.0.
