Title: Help with funny knocking noise from 2.6 v6

As most will know i have been flushing the cooling system on my 2.6 after an oil cooler change.

All has been good untill this afternoon, when warming the engine up a funny knocking noise started on tickover. It comes and goes and sounds like it is comeing from the back of the d/s bank.

Could it be the coil spark shorting out to the head? as the rubber sleives between the coils and spark plugs have seen better days.

Advice please.

Does it eventually stop, or diminish when the engine is revved? Because that would point the finger at a cam follower
