Title: Something new and unusual for my car

I wanted to get something for my car, as I haven't done any changes to the current look for a while, and it was getting a bit old.

So, I got my self a set of this rims:

You might thing - what in heck I need this old rims for? I wanted something different, and fancied this rims from the time I had carlton, but never had them as I find that 15" rims on omega come with too high tyre sidewall, and this doesn't look good IMO. But, then an idea came in my head - here is an visuallisation (not my car):

IMO, it's different than usual car 'tunning' pattern, and it looks great.

I think the BBS mesh style of wheels fit the Carltons well. They look good on Omegas too. Although I'm not sure about the white walls. I don't like them. Looks too "American gangster" to me on a car which has a sophisticated European design. Doesn't match. Of course it's a matter of personal opinion.

It looks great, too, IMO. But, also, it looks chavy, as you Brits would say.

I'll fit the tyres (205/65 front, 225/60 rear) and then apply the rings with non-permanent color (probaly chalk  ;D ), to see how it looks. And then try this with lettering.

I don't think the second version looks chavy. It looks much better than the first. :y

I myself would leave the tyres black and just have the wheels. The white lettering matches muscle cars and sports cars. Neither of which the omega is.

The only one I don't like are the white letters, always been keen on thin whitewalls think they look great.

It's a subjective thing, of course.

Personally not  whitewall fan on anything post-1960 and not American, even a lot of Yank-influenced British designs (Cresta, Sceptres, ZOdiac etc) look odd with whiewalls. SOft spot for painted white letters, it sort of works on an Omega. But I think very much dependant on the particular car - a fettled V6, with some other subtle mods, possibly, a standard 4-pot GLS would look like its more of an Ironic statement  :)

But, as I say, completely subjective. Many a time has a similar question been posed on here, the ultimate answer - your car, your rules. Sod the rest of us!  :D

Nevertheless, when I get some tyres -> I have a box of my sons street chalk, that I plan to use for trial versions of stripe-vs-lettering.
