In June 2013 I upgraded my old phone to (at the time) a spangly new Sony Xperia T. I was my first proper smart phone and I was very pleased with it. :y However when it was about 20 months old it kept shutting down and wouldn't restart, unless I did the power button/volume button reset. ::)
I took it back to Three as the supplier, but they didn't want to know and told me to contact Sony. >:( Sony sent me a prepaid envelope and I sent it back to them and they sent out a brand new phone within a couple of days! :y
So this phone is now about 20 months old and the same thing is happening. It dies from time to time and now it won't charge up unless its switched off! ::) :(
I'm wondering if there's a little timebomb in the software, so it starts to play up and people then upgrade..... :-\ ::) Cynical? Moi? :D

No timebomb just the usual "built to a price point" like everything else nowadays, no doubt there will be a capacitor or something on the board that fails after so long as the better version would of been .00001p more expensive to fit >:(

Probably a life expired battery.

Yes I think you're right Mark. I managed with a bit of fiddling to get it to charge to 67% this afternoon, but over the course of the evening it's discharged to 14%! :( That's about 5 or 6 hours on standby! ::)

Well I'll never have Sony phone again. Less than 2 years old and it's as dead as a dodo! >:(
I'm away at the moment, so will have to buy another phone as the chances of getting this one sorted here are less than zero and I need to be contactable.
Sony will be getting a stiff letter of complaint when I get home!! >:(

So I went out this afternoon and bought an Asus Zenfone 3 Max. It seems OK so far, it switches on, I get a signal and I can connect to the internet with WiFi. :y
What can possibly go wrong? ::) :)

The battery will go flat and you'll become rediscombobulated :P

The Sony will spring back into life and you will torn between keeping your new Asus or giving the old Sony another chance ;D ;D

One of the phone battery's spontaneously combusts and burns the room out. :P :P :P
Even worse a certain admin's phone joins in, in sympathy. :o :o :o
