Basically, if one partner earns less than £11k and the other less than 43K, the first can pass some of their tax allowance to the second. Its worth about £200 a year, and can be backdated to the previous year. ::)

Done mine last year,saved myself £200+ pa,they got it wrong first time and taxed me more,but it got sorted out in the end.

Did mine a few weeks ago and got a nice rebate from my private pension provider. :y Just make sure that the claim is made by the non taxpayer.
