That said, I haven't looked that closely :-\

That's what I thought also, Seems too good to be true somehow.  :-\

It would be simpler with one price for all cars, I can imagine the people with low TAX rate cars won't be too happy.

...People with gas guzzlers though  ;D

I looked on the Auto Express site  . . . how I read it was  . . .all cars already registered will stay on their current road tax band  . . .  so staying the same

You cannot be serious in thinkng HM Treasury would actually put it down do you  ::) ::) ::)

That would be nice  . . .  but never gonna happen IMO :'( :'(

It's a complete ****ing joke.  How they can justify maintaining the £500+ pa bracket after slashing the new rate.  >:(

'Tessie' May has said she wants to help the JAMS......so I'm pretty sure there will be zero tax to pay on any Omega built before 2006. ::)

So....happy days. :)

Something in the news recently about derv cars producing twice the 'toxic waste' of a lorry or derv bus.

Can't be right....can it?

Nope, the can't get enough carbon to turn into oxygen, and as for nitrogen,  they live on the stuff... it's the primary ingredient of most fertilizers...

The Signum is based on the mighty Vectra. A car admired by all. :)

I often think I see another Signum driving toward me but it invariably turns out to be a Vectra.

Signum's never sold in big numbers and the 2.8V6 versions are extremely rare.

The 2.8V6 Turbo Signum is an undiscovered motoring icon (at least that is what I like to believe) :)

Soon to be spoken about in the same breath as the Lotus Carlton, and, dare I say it, Chevette 2300HS. :y

It's a complete ****ing joke.  How they can justify maintaining the £500+ pa bracket after slashing the new rate.  >:(

I think it's £140 flat rate for everything but anything with a new price of £40k or over has a £300 (ish) additional fee for the first five years.

Looking forward to getting a 5 year old BMW 760Li in 2022  :y

Oh the new rates are fine... it's the 2006 - 2017 rates for the higher emitters that are wholy unfair, and will doubtless result in the early scrapping of otherwise perfectly serviceable cars.

Can't see small cars shifting terribly well later this year when the tax rate rises 950% though!  ;D
