Title: Osram nightbreakers or?
Post by: Varche on 20 January 2017, 17:01:08
I have a bulb gone so as an interim have put the original H4's back on.

Before I go and buy some more Osram Nightbreakers is there anything else at similar price that is better please?

Confusingly there are unlimited 110% and laser 130% better. and ordinary 90% better.  Presumably laser are the ones to go for?

How long did they last?  I got 2months out of some Osram nightbreakers once. The O/S went a week later as well  ::)

Total garbage.

In light of Varche's experience I'm beginning to wonder...  :-\

They weren't suspiciously cheap I remember that much. Which makes it even worse  >:(

In the last 3 years Ive had about a year out of the nightbreakers, bit longer off some Phillips extreme, just changed to ring +130's and think these give the best illumination of the lot.
Can't comment on lifespan yet

The packaging on these upgrade bulbs does clearly state that the life will be shorter.

Just fitted a set of nightbreaker +130 to the trusty Transit as the dipped beam isn't great and I spend a lot of time on unlit roads.

Confucious say "man who cook beans... and peas in same pan... very unhygienic!"

Anyway I've ordered a set of Nightbreakers for MrsGKs Lupo - she's had over a year out of the last set and it is our biffabout car so plenty of night time and early morning miles... £15 for a new pair isn't too bad.
