Title: Central locking locks, then unlocks itself
Post by: grifter on 22 January 2017, 12:51:38
Being a cavalier owner I am quite used to this but now my omega is doing it. I don't know if it is cold weather as cavy is doing it too (lock to deadlock then opens/shuts/opens/shuts/opens) itself.

Mega is doing it once. So I press the key button thingy and it locks then unlocks, I just lock it again and no issues. Is this another one of those quirks I have to live with or is it pointing to something maybe more sinister with key fob or something else?

I had heard on the cavy that it is the locking wire loom going onto the boot lid hinge that break and short out the system. All the bootlid wires on my cavy are broken awaiting fixing but nothing is touching on the "live side" of the wire loom.

The switches in the drivers door solenoid tell the rest of the system whether to lock or unlock. The switches don't last forever so you probably need to fit new ones.

Surely, if it was the switches, the central locking wouldn't have locked in the first place  :-\

I am assuming that the car is being locked using the remote  :-\

Yes, microswitches in the driver's door locking motor would be my guess. :y
