Title: CDR2005
Post by: Pmacca2000 on 27 January 2017, 18:38:38
Over the past year or so I've become unable to play CDs in the car, added to this the display no longer shows radio station but the date or a blank space.
Id like to keep the car original and was wondering about getting the stereo serviced ?

Do you play homemade cds?

No in fairness I could intermittently play proper CDs but over the past year you can put them in but nothing happens.

Lots of second hand units on ebay for £20 - just need to make sure that you get one with the code that hasn't been used to play cds............

 Cheers Andy,
I was wondering about getting this unit serviced as it keeps the car original if that's a possibility?

Cheers for that, I understood the units were all shaped in a different was to stop them getting nicked, is that not the case ?

The facia panel is the difference... box behind is essentially double din sized ;)

So just one out and one in?
Maybe cheaper than a referb of the current unit

No problems in refurbing that unit if you want to keep it all original

Which version have you got?

Delco  or  SiemensVDO  or VDO ?   (all use different parts inside - but most kept in stock)

I think it said VDO 2005, I'll check though as sad as it sounds I'd like to keep her accurate to the build order

Hello Dave, If you have a Delco one in pieces could you have a possibility to check whether this chip TDA7313 is found there...
