Title: Groaning
Post by: tooleater on 01 February 2017, 21:11:12
Hi guys having just sung the praises of transformed Mig, well in handling department at least, I've noticed the steering instead of the normal light hissing sound when turned lock to lock, it's now making a horrible groaning  :'(which can be heard over the idle. It would be fair to say before trip to Wim. I had recently noticed steering getting tight before the wheel locked left or right, now groans. There are no leaks I can see, so I'm assuming something  is failing not sure what though  ???

Dry strut bearings. You can clean and regrease them if they're not too bad, but when new ones are about £20 I don't think that's worth it.

Could be the Steering Idler they seize up and groan like that when turning the steering.
